copalera - limited edition altar vessel
a one-of-a-kind altar object made from reclaimed ceramic seconds sourced from a local ceramic studio, joined and transformed by hand. each vessel features small openings that allow the charcoal to breathe and stay burning. suitable for burning copal and other resins on charcoal, as well as sage, herbs, and other smudges. the ceramic helps protect surfaces from heat and ash.
i like to think that intention moves through the vessel, and the object becomes a passage rather than a container.
