About the event

Indigo & Cacao: A Summer Gathering

Step away from the pace of everyday life and join us for an intimate evening of cacao, conversation, and natural indigo dyeing.

This gathering is an invitation to slow down, spend time making something with your hands, meet new people, and enjoy a few hours in good company. Whether you come alone or with a friend, you'll be welcomed into a small circle where there's space to create, connect, and simply enjoy being present.

What You'll Experience

a warm cup of cacao to begin the evening together,

a simple moment to settle in and arrive,

an introduction to the living indigo vat and the beauty of natural dyeing,

guidance in folding, shaping, and dyeing your own garment or textile,

light seasonal refreshments, conversation, and plenty of time to create at your own pace,

This is not a traditional dye workshop or a tie-dye class. We'll work with indigo in an intuitive way, embracing organic patterns, layered blues, and the beautiful surprises that emerge as each piece comes to life. No two are ever alike.

Our outdoor dye studio is surrounded by nature, creating the perfect setting to spend a summer evening outdoors together.

What to Bring

Please bring one medium-sized garment or textile made from a natural fiber such as linen, cotton, silk, rayon, bamboo, or Tencel.

Your piece should be pre-washed, dry, and free of fabric softener or dryer sheets.

If you're unsure what to bring, feel free to bring one or two options, and we'll choose what works best for the indigo vat together.

You might bring a favorite piece that already holds meaning, something with a stain you'd like to give new life to, or a simple garment ready for a new story.

Indigo also loves to play with color- a yellow piece may become green, orange may shift into mossy or earthy tones, and pink may transform into purple. Each piece takes on a life of its own.

Please avoid very large or heavy pieces such as duvet covers, blankets, thick jackets, or multi-layered garments, as they can absorb a significant amount of dye and are best left for another time so the vat can be shared by the whole group.

Please wear clothing and shoes you don't mind getting a few blue specks on.

Your Host

I'm Edyta, artist, textile designer, and founder of I Wander Through.

For years I've been exploring natural dyes, reclaimed textiles, and the simple pleasure of making by hand. Indigo has become one of my greatest teachers, while cacao has become a daily ritual that helps me begin each morning with presence.

It brings me joy to open my outdoor dye studio and share both with others. My hope is that you'll leave with something made by your own hands, a few new connections, and the feeling that comes from spending an evening well.

Registration

Tickets are non-refundable but may be transferred to a friend if you're unable to attend. If the gathering is canceled due to severe weather, you'll receive a full refund.

If you have any questions about what to bring or whether a fabric is suitable, I'd be happy to help.

Come as you are.

Leave with something beautiful, a little blue on your hands, and a heart that's a bit lighter.
